1926 Treasure Island Pirate Map Trading Card Fry’s Chocolate V41 #28 Pirate Card

Description: This scarce card is one in a series of 50 cards issued in Canada by the J.S. FRY & SONS Confectionery Company during the year 1926. One was inserted into each package of their Fry’s Chocolate & Cocoa. They are listed as V41 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue, they are entitled “Treasure Island Map”. Each card features an image that when combined with the other cards in the series, like a puzzle forms a Pirate Treasure Map. The map forms a island that is in the shape of the face of a Pirate when all the cards are collected and put together. like a puzzle. The back provides information as to how a whole set of 50 cards could be exchanged for a “Treasure Chest of Chocolates” . This card number 28 in the series. The Card measures 2 5/8 inches by 1 3/8 inches approximately. The card does have some lighter corner and edge wear, but is free from major creases. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. THESE CARDS WERE NEVER ISSUED IN THE U.S.A or U.K. and are scarce. Due to the lower population in Canada, print runs were much smaller compared with American and British Cards. (Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards are far scarcer than cards issued in the USA and UK).
