Description: Lot of (2) 1920s era advertising cards/flyers. These were printed for the Liberty Theatre in Benton Harbor, MI to advertise the release of the Chaplin Films "Foolish Wives" (1922) and "My Boy" (1921). They are both on paper stock with paper photos added after the cards were printed. These were passed out to advertising the film showings. These were printed by Bradford & Co. Makers out of St. Joseph, Michigan. These would be considered ephemeral advertising. We do not expect that many of these exisit. The cards do not indicate the year of the viewings, but are presumed to be 1920s. The Chaplin card indicates that the Liberty Orchestra played a musical score and offered lighting effects. The Liberty Theatre was open from 1922 to 1975 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Bradford & Company was an advertising novelty company out of St. Joseph, Michigan that produced advertising cards for many industries across the U.S. The image from the Chaplin card matches the card image used on bakery advertising cards.
