Description: About this listing - This listing is for the Dresser print pictured. Because every monitor displays differently, expect that there will be some variance between what you see on the monitor and how the prints will look in your hands. The images of the prints posted on this listing are as representative of the actual print as I could make them. These prints are in good condition over all. As the print is just over 100 years old some paper foxing, toning and other minor defects should be expected & may be present. About the Illustrator & work - Henry Eeles Dresser was a noted figure in Ornithology of the late 1800's and was one of the last to produce a full folio bird work (Birds of Europe). Dresser wrote over 100 scientific papers addressing various concerns in Ornithology & was recognized by his contemporaries. Dresser was also a early advocate for the protection of birds. The print in this listing comes from Birds of Britain by J. Lewis Bonhote, with illustrations in color selected by H.E. Dresser from his earlier publication Birds of Europe. The prints are original chromolithographic plates. The condition of these prints is generally good. Each print is small, measuring approximately 6 inches by 8.5 inches.
