Description: Scarce world’s fair item: 1915 PANAMA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION, San Francisco; a CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION to a “T. Muellhaupt” that is SIGNED by the Expo’s President (CHARLES C MOORE) and Secretary (RUDOLPH J TAUSSIG); measures 9.5x12 inches, parchment, blank on the reverse. CHARLES C MOORE (13th Governor of Idaho and PPIE organizer) is often given the lion’s share of credit for the success of The Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915 - Moore’s itinerary during the fair included attending 425 events and giving 277 speeches, all between February 20 and December 4. RUDOLPH TAUSSIG wrote a book called The American Inter-Oceanic Canal in 1917; he was both secretary and director of the PPIE. Condition is G+: has a 2.5-inch tear at bottom of right side that has been taped on the reverse; some heavy spotting, tiny edge nick and edge tear, light wrinkles, tack holes to top corners.
