Description: 1912 Press Photo Members of the New Orleans Motorcylce Club - noc72943 This is an original press photo. Picture Out of Our Past - In City Park, on a sunlit day back in 1912, members of the New Orleans Motorcycle Club line up their 21 bikes for a group picture that fairly radiates esprit de corps. The club was organized with the assistance of Smith Brothers, a sign firm founded here in 1905, said Arthur J. Smith Sr., 200 Green Acres Road, Metairie, who submitted the picture. He's a member of a Smith family- originally from Missouri- two elder brothers of which, Harold and Claude, formed the sign concern, with which Arthur became associated in 1910. (He retired in 1955.) Photo measures 10.25 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated --1912.
