Description: Although I know little about Sterling Silver Spoons, my Grandfather and Grandmother collected a lot of them in the early 20th Century. Fortunately, my Grandmother chronicled in a diary, among other things, their acquisition of these Silver spoons. This spoon was bought 3rd week of July 1911. Diary entry: Sat July 21, 1911 Jake left Schenectady N. Y. for Owen Sound Canada to be gone only a few days during his absence I remained in Schenectady. Wed July 26, 1911 He returned again to Schenectady. He also brought me three souvenir spoons one from Owen Sound Canada, Buffalo, & Toronto. Unknown manufacturer (although you might have an idea based on pictures). Reverse spoon pictures has some overhead shadows (trellis above photography). Spoon is approximately 4.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 12 grams. Unusual (I think) to find "British' on spoon handle. Well tarnished and soiled (for lack of a better novice description). Best part of this is knowing exactly when it was purchased...likely manufactured in an earlier year than 1911.
