Description: October 31, 1902 bill of $188.32 from Copperfield Mines in Copperfield, Vermont to the Sullivan Manufacturing Company. Single-sheet approximately 8” x 9.5”. In good condition, with small holes and rust wear to top and bottom of left-hand side of paper. Light rubbing and wear along perimeter. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce bill concerning business from a mine once owned by electrical pioneer George Westinghouse (1846-1914). Located near Vershire in Orange County, the town of Copperfield once held hundreds of residents in mining-related activities. Following a variety of failed experiments at the mine, Westinghouse ultimately pulled out of the area, crippling mining operations and helping to turn Copperfield into a ghost town.
