Description: Superb rare 18th century French faience pottery pitcher from Lille in the ''Jacqueline'' form with a pewter hinged pottery lid. A tin glazed lady sitting on a mound, with her feet out in front of a bonfire I understand in the story of the piece. A pale bluish grey glaze with distinctive decoration of the clothes and apron. Original base color. Large strap handle with pewter fittings to the lid. She measures 30.5cm (12'') high, 14.5cm (5 3/4'') wide, 19cm (7") long and 28cm (11'') deep.Weight: 4.13 lb. Condition is very good for age: there are 2 chips the glaze. (one on nose and one on front of apron). No restoration and the hinge is also fine.
