Map sheet is 12.625 inches by 17 inches, actual printed area 10.5 inches by 15 inches. Would look great framed and on a wall. Same printed area as maps taken from smaller 9" x 12" atlas' from other years. This map also displays Time Zones for US, Erie Canal, Principal Steamer Routes,Principal Railroad links, and Submarine Telegraph. Color key at bottom of map to shows Nation Parks and Forests as well as location of Reservations of Indian Tribes in US. On right hand side of map is a key showing cities over 1 Million population: New York, cities between 200,000 and 1 million: Buffalo, 100,000-200,000: Denver. Red dot marks active Volcano's of the 19th Century. Alaska inset map, no Hawaii as in 1897 not yet a US territory until 1898 or state until 1959. These maps have some toning and may have minor tears and dings to edges if shown, and may have slight separation at top or bottom of seam where pages overlap. Email questions.
