Description: Barker Brothers Silverplate Tray. In absolutely beautiful condition...estate item...a large heavy 29" long (handle to handle) by 18" wide 1 3/4" tall ornate footed silver plate tray. Perfect for display of large silver tea and coffee set. This is a substantial tray (weighs over 12lb.) appearing to have very little wear for an estate piece. Ornate handles and floral boarder adorned with leaves and trumpet flowers. The underside has a full mark (three stars into a trefoil) for the silversmith Barker Brothers of Birmingham, England. Barker Brothers, later Barker Ellis was originally founded in 1801. The tray is in Excellent condition dating to around 1890, late Victorian in era. This is an heirloom quality piece. There is also very small lightly engraved word "Burford" (last photo) which could denote the family name. A very handsome and grand large serving tray.
