Description: Rookwood monumental floor vase. Decorated by artist Albert Robert Valentien, it stands about 25 5/16" tall with a 7 1/4" diameter. Mr. Valentien was at Rookwood from 1881 to 1905 in charge of the decorating department. This example was created in 1888 and has a lovely multi floral decoration in two tone brown and butterscotch colors over a rich caramel-tan body. A wonderful example of this man's exquisite artwork. Please study the photos, using the magnifier feature, to observe the crazing overall, glaze pops, cracking and chipping in several spots, glaze loss spot near the base area, and small chip under the top rim.
