It is from an 1888 edition of Mitchell's New Intermediate Geography, A System of Modern Geography, published by H. Butler & Co., Philadelphia, 1888, although the map has a "Copyright 1876, by J.H. Butler" in the bottom left corner. A copy of the title page is included. It is not framed, matted or mounted, being sold as a loose sheet as seen in the pic photographed against a dark background. It is a scarce map that only appeared in the West Virginia edition of the Atlas, often these school atlases would have a special state section for the students of that state. Condition: It is in Fair condition for its age with overall light tonal ageing, on a flexible page with hand coloring. There are a couple of bent corners and some obvious light staining as seen in the pics, see the pics for more on condition. Overall, a rich patina for those desiring a stressed antique appearance.
