Description: Indian Head Cents US Indian Head Cent ERROR 1886 OBV - No Legends Possibly the only one in existence Error Rating - 9 1 (Very Common) - 9 Extremely Rare Weak strike Weak strike is a coin error that occurs when the coin dies are just being set up and adjusted before the actual coin stamping starts. At this point, the pressure applied to the coin press is not high enough producing weak strikes on the coin. As a result, the coin design is hardly visible. Weak strike error coins are also called die trials or die adjustment strikes. Error Coin Information Information contained below will help describe how the Error Collection was acquired. The collection image below is from over 60 years of searching 1000's & 1000's of coins & paper money. Collection contains mostly US Coins & Paper of all denominations, a couple hundred or so from countries all over the world. The coins were found either in Bank Rolls - both circulated & mint, Mint & Proof Sets, collected change or purchased from other collectors. I've always been fascinated with Errors & Die Varieties. 20 some years ago I purchased a microscope and this greatly increased my ability to compare and find die variations. Not sure if I have found them all, probably can never achieve that; but most of them are here. Many die variations I’ve found have gone unreported and could possibly be one of a kind. A number of coins have been certified, but most of them have not. I’m currently attempting to gather all the information I’ve created in the past and adding more information and photos. I did consider offering the entire collection as one lot, but Ebay Seller limits is preventing me from doing this. So, I will attempt to sell one at a time or a group of coins. I am constantly updating this information, so check back frequently. Any questions; please email me. Thanks and Enjoy. Jim PS.
