Description: Original hand signed currency issued by the “Bank of the State of South Carolina” in 1863. This “10 Cents” note was issued without serial numbers. Fractional currency was issued because of the coin shortage during the Civil War. The original lead bullets were excavated from private land on the Chancellorsville Battlefield in Virginia. They were all made in iron molds and would have used a paper cartridge. The .58 bullet was made for the Springfield rifle and along with the .52 Sharps were Federal issue. The .69 musket ball was made by both sides. The white color is due to oxidation in the ground. The brass button at center was issued on either state militia coats or uniforms issued by Confederate depots. The hand made solid Oak frame is 8” x 10” (glass size). The mat color is light blue. All of the frame and display work was done in our cabinet shop here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph of the item purchased. Please see our "About Collectors Frame”, for more information on the framing and artifacts.
