Crewe-Milnes (1858-1945), 1st Marquess of Crewe, known as The Lord Houghton from 1885 to 1895 and as The Earl of Crewe from 1895 to 1911, Secretary of State for India 1910-1915, Ambassador to Paris 1922-1928, and Secretary of State for War 1931. Condition: Covers are detached but present, the front and rear covers are scuffed at the leather on the corners and rear margin, the spine leather covering is mostly intact but is chipped, scratched, and worn. Internally there is some foxing here and there, especially on the first few pages, otherwise the inner pages are tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked.
