It is by [Wellington] W. Williams with a copyright date of 1847, both stated on the map in the bottom margin, see pics. It was originally published in Appleton's Railroad and Steamboat Companion, in 1847, a copy of the title page is included with all the publishing details. The listing is for the map only, which is not mounted, matted or framed. The pics are of the actual map for sale. Overall a nice small size map with bright color and a rich antique patina that would frame up well. Size: The image area inside the border lines measures approximately 4 3/4 by 7 inches (12x18cm) on a 5 3/4 by 7 1/2" (15x19cm) page with a margin all around as seen in the main pic. Condition: The map is in Good better condition with original hand coloring and a centerfold as issued, as seen in the pics. There is some moderate back printing most noticeable in the ocean area and light tonal ageing, blank on reverse, otherwise it is very clean with strong color and a rich antique patina that would frame up nicely, see the pics for more on condition.
