Description: If you're an uncompromising collector of antique technology, make sure to check out all my listings after you look at this one. I don't think you'll find a better, broader or more balanced assortment of technical antiques anywhere -- hundreds of listings each year, almost all of them featuring eye-popping "gee whiz" gadgetry in exceptional original condition. And don't forget, you can click this link to quickly add and then save me to your favorite seller list and Ebay will automatically send you updates when I put similar new listings online. Here's an early electro-magnetic demonstration apparatus sold by Benjamin Pike in the 1840's. It's signed "Ben. F. Pike, Jr. 294 Broadway New York" on the base but was likely manufactured by Daniel Davis, Jr., whose 1842 catalog entry no. 120 for Helix On Stand matches the apparatus both visually and electrically. Condition is good overall, with normal signs of wear consistent with age and authenticity. Original throughout, with no repairs or restoration of any type. Approximately 6 1/2" high and 4 1/2" wide. Base diameter is approx. 5 1/2". Shipping weight approximately 5 lb. Please review the pictures, and consider them an integral part of the description. That's about it. I will package it properly so that it arrives at your doorstep safely. I have been shipping antique phonographs and radios for years, and if you check my feedback, you'll see that I know how to do it correctly. Buyer prepays and includes shipping.
