It was published by Carey & Lea in Philadelphia, 1831 for a US edition of Samuel Butler's Atlas of Antient Geography. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is an interesting map that was a discard from the Brooklyn Public Library with a perforated library stamp on the map. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single loose map as shown in the main pic. Overall, a very beautiful map with a strong impression and a nice Brooklyn Library provenance that makes it a rare find. Size: The map image measures approximately 7 by 9 1/2 inches (18x24cm) on a 8 1/2 by 10 1/4" (22x26cm) page with a margin all around for framing. Condition: The map is in Good to Very Good condition with original handcolor as issued, printed on heavy paper, blank on the reverse with a centerfold as issued. There is a perforated library stamp on the map as seen in the pic. It was beginning to split along the centerfold, so we have reinforced the centerfold on reverse with archival material. It is no longer foldable, but it is very flat for framing with a stressed antique appearance that some desire in an old map, see the pics for more on detail. The pics are of the actual map.
