The set opens with Rousseau's Confessions, enabling to the reader to learn about the enlightenment thinker's life before delving into his work. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, with some light wear to the joints and some minor bumping to the extremities. The joints are a little more worn to volume ten, which has an inch-long tear in the calf at the front joint. Lightly rubbed to the spine, with an inch of calf missing to the head of the spine of volume five, and a tear in the calf near the head of volume one. Volume nine is a little worn to the head of the spine, whilst volume thirteen is missing a slither of calf to the tail of the spine. The extremities to volume twenty are more bumped than the remaining volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with the odd patch of light foxing.
