Description: This ornate Victorian-era brooch features 28 tiny transparent red Bohemian garnets (1 -1.5 mm each, approximately .40 carats total) and 13 white freshwater seed pearls (1.5 – 2 mm each). With magnification, one can see that there are two garnets missing but with the cluster design, this is not obvious to the naked eye. Careful acid testing showed this is made of a low-grade silver. The brooch has some tarnish and features a C-clasp on the back. It is believed that the stick pin was added later. The stick cap is gold-colored. With magnification, one can see there are a couple places where this gold color has worn off. The brooch piece is about 2cm x 1cm and the entire stick pin with the cap is about 7cm long. This is a unique piece reminiscent of a bygone era. All the jewelry I am posting on eBay has been verbally evaluated by GIA Graduate Gemologist and the gold was carefully acid tested. All my vintage jewelry for sale has minor surface scratches and some signs of wear. I will note any obvious damage. Please consider photos as part of the description and let me know if you have any questions.
