Description: Rare print of the great racehorse Baronet by noted engraver, painter and sculptor George Stubbs. Baronet was a 1785 foal who ran for the Prince of Wales. This is dated February 20, 1794 and is mounted on some kind of linen or silk that is just slightly bigger than the print. Overall it measures about 22"x18". This has some toning and foxing but overall is in great condition for its age. It appears that it was framed at some point as there is writing in the margin with the dimensions. The text of the print is a bit hard to read but I'm not sure if that is due to age or just how it originally was. This is really a unique piece. Shipping is $12.95 and will be sent in a sturdy cardboard tube. Please review the photos and use the magnify feature to review the condition. Please see our other auctions for an extensive collection of historic horse racing programs, Daily Racing Forms, trophies and memorabilia featuring horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Dr. Fager, Damascus, Round Table, Dan Patch, Buckpasser, Kelso and other champions and Kentucky Derby winners.
