1787 George III Silver Shilling - “The King’s Shilling” Memento!!! (D821)

Description: 1787 George III Silver Shilling - “The King’s Shilling” Memento!!! (D821) This was the only shilling issued in England between the years 1758 and 1816. Within this period, giving “the kings shilling“ when new recruits were drafted into the Royal Navy, would have meant giving them a nice, shiny new coin, which would’ve been one of these 1787 shillings. This one has been lovingly retained and used as a pendant, maybe for the person who was recruited, maybe as a memento for that person’s wife back home. The ruler in the image is apparently confusing quite a few people. Just for clarification, the scale you see on the ruler is in millimetres and centimetres. It’s just a normal ruler. Ebay seem to be losing my second images, sometimes even the first!  Everything should have a heads and tails if it’s a coin.  If you see anything that looks like it’s missing an image or two, please let me know and I’ll sort it. Thnx! Just to be clear, all my images are done on a not-very-good iPhone camera - in fact I list everything from start to finish on my phone.  As such, the images will be basic and certainly not enhanced in any way (more like de-hanced on my phone!!). Post Office Posting Days: Due to this horrible worldwide pandemic, my Post Office ALWAYS has at least a 20 minute queue.  So in order to keep everyone safe, I think it best that I only post on TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS (their quietest days).  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these worrying times.
