Polished red calf binding (perhaps Scottish?), 4to (book measures 26 x 22cm, 5cm thick), gilt decoration to both boards and sline, gilt to all page edges, pp xliv, 452. With an engraved frontispiece plus a further 24 engraved plates. CONDITION A very good copy in a lovely contemporary Scottish(?) binding. The leather binding is very good with good strong hinges and with no cracking. Inner joints sound and marble endpapers a very good. There is a name written in a contemporary hand to the front free endpaper. All contents present including all 25 engraved plates as called for. Pages very good throughout with just a tad spotting or thumb mark to the odd margin. All plates are very good with no damage. Overall in very good condition (Loc: Shop; Glass cabinet no 3; Top shelf)
