Description: The American Virgin Islands were first a colony of Denmark but became a possession of the United States finally in 1917. So, like the Hawaiian Islands the islands coins are to me colonial coinage of the U.S. The Danish West Indies became the United States Virgin Islands. Offered here is a 1764 contemporary imitation probably made in England and at least as scarce as the original and most likely rarer. This one is minus the silvering. A 24-skilling coin of the Danish West Indies. This is a nice grade of a scarce denomination coin with detail on the ship. Not often seen. The1764 dated obverse has a sailing ship with date below. The legend around in Danish translates to 24 skilling Denmark AMERICAN COIN. There is a finer one listed now, but it is over $779 so mine is a great buy. See the scans. U.S. shipping is $4. It will cost me more. PayPal preferred. WILL SHIP ANYWHERE ALLOWED BY Ebay I am always open to offers on any of my listings. Just ask. Worst thing is I say no.I combine shipping usually adding nothing and when I do just enough to cover shipping or insurance. If you pay more than one shipping I will refund the difference. Just remind me if I forget.
