I can provide additional pictures upon request. Offered for sale is #1520 a Phillips Brothers hand blown amber blob top. The Phillips Brothers were a bottling house for several of the Baltimore area breweries. Bottling was time consuming and expensive and many breweries did not have the space, apparatus, manpower or the desire to gamble on the bottles being returned to the brewery. Phillips Bros met this need and charged for not only the beer but also the bottles. The price for the bottles would be refunded if and when the empty bottles were returned. This example has strong embossing, no case wear and including the match boxing log porcelain top. The glass is full of bubble and stretch/straw marks on the neck from where the glass was pulled and twisted to form the blob top. This example was blown at the Edward H.
