Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. The Type VIIC U-Boat was, for a time, the terror of the Atlantic. Operating in Wolfpacks, these boats tore into convoys bringing desperately needed supplies to a reeling UK. The tables turned and the hunter quickly became the hunted, reducing the fleet of U-Boats to an ineffective force that suffered some of the highest mortality rates in the war. This kit has two different conning towers to allow you to build either a Type VIIC or a VIIC/41 U-Boat. I found about a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (many opened) but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I can reliably ship this kit to you very quickly. Here is what I have found online about this classic kit: The Heller site has a page for the latest version of this kit (package and decal difference only) that shows all sides of the box and provides the following blurb about the Type VIIC submarine: The German submarine Type VII C was by far the most built submarine. This variant was put into service in April 1940 and was the backbone of the Battle of the Atlantic. Only one boat still exists as a museum ship in Laboe (Germany). Type VII were single-hull ocean-going boats, the characteristics of which were the external saddle tanks. More than 700 units have been put into service. Scalemates.com has a listing that shows the box art and shows it is a 1997 release based on the 1977 tooling. There is a link to download the full-color instruction set and many links to reference books, walk-arounds and project galleries. The kit is in a colorful box about 9” x 5” x 2”. As you can see from the pictures, the kit is in pristine condition and is still sealed with tape disks, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains 34 highly detailed light grey plastic parts and decals, as well as a stand to create and display your own tiny Type VIIC or VIIC/41 U-Boat. It requires paint and cement to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays the winning bid, and for a limited time, I am offering this diminuitive item with $5 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions and listings for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
