1/35 StuG. III Ausf.C/D Cyber Hobby / Dragon Super Value #9119 Shrink Wrap MISB

Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! This is the nineteenth kit in the long line of Orange Super Value Packs from Cyber Hobby (Dragon) that have become very hard to find. The StuG. III has appeared in several Orange Box releases due to its importance and widespread usage across all fronts. This Super Value Pack kit is a repackaging (with updates and additions) of the very successful Dragon StuG. III Ausf.C, 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 kit (#9035) with the bonus of a highly detailed set of Magic Tracks and four German Panzergrenadiers Wiking Division figures from Hungary 1945 (DML #6194). I only found a couple of listings for this kit on eBay (getting hard-to-find), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The cyber-hobby.com site no longer has a page for this kit, so I assume it has been Discontinued or is Out of Production. From other sources, I have found the following information about this kit: The StuG III (Sturmgeschütz III) was a German armored gun from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were built in 1937, and serial production continued in the period 1940-1945, ending with the production of about 10,300 vehicles. Based on the chassis of the famous Panzer III, the StuG III began life as an infantry support weapon, but by the end of the war it had developed into an effective tank destroyer. One of the earlier variants of the StuG III was the Ausf.C, which was identified by an improved superstructure that eliminated a shot trap near the gunner’s view port. A total of 50 StuG III Ausf.C vehicles, each weighing 20.2 tons and featuring a 7.5cm StuK37 L/24 gun, were produced between May and September of 1941. - Value Added Magic Tracks- Bonus Figures Set: Panzergrenadiers Wiking Division (Hungary 1945) Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2010 release (with new parts) of Dragon’s 1997 StuG III Ausf.C, 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 (DML #9035) which is based on the original Dragon Sturmgeschütz III Ausf.F kit from 1994. That tooling has been the basis of a staggering 28 releases across the Dragon, Cyber Hobby, Hasegawa, Italeri, Revell, Zvezda and Platz brands. They have the box art and a link to download the complete, 2-color 8-page instruction set and the full-color painting guide. There are also links to reviews, aftermarket parts, galleries and resources that could be useful. Scott Van Aken published a brief Preview on the modelingmadness.com site. He provides a short background on the Sd.Kfz. 142 Sturmgeschütz III (StuG. III) and lists the bonus features of this release as: Value Added Magic Tracks and Bonus German Panzergrenadier Figure Set. We don’t see the plastic since he only gives us images of the box art and the Parts Layout drawing. His Conclusion sounds like a sales pitch: “These Value Pack kits really are a great deal for the money. You get a quality kit and a set of figures to go along with it, both for a very good price.” Keith Middleton authored a very thorough In-Box Review on the archive.armorama.com site. He provides almost 30 photos of the sprues, part details, tracks, PE parts, decals and instructions. He describes the contents of the main kit, as well as the four sprues that make up the figure set, including a variety of weapons and ammunition boxes. The Highs for this kit are described as: “This kit represents a tremendous value for the budget minded modeler as it provides both a decent kit of a unique version of the StuG III and a nice set of late-war Waffen SS figures.” Don Barry delivered an abbreviated Build Review on the reviews.ipmsusa.org site. He provides a few lines on the history of the Sturmgeschütz line of assault guns before detailing the contents of the kit. He gives us the broad strokes on the construction and painting of the model, supplying tips as he goes. We got a handful of photos of the finished model, along with the figure sprues. In the end, he said: “I had great fun building this kit, more so because the variant gave me lots of room for optional looks.” PanzerGarage posted a long (over 24 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that starts with a lengthy discussion of the StuG program. At about the 8-minute point, you see the contents, beginning with the instructions. Then he goes sprue by sprue with closeup views of the parts. Everything is well covered so there should be no doubt about what comes in the box. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 9.5” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in terrific shape and still snugly sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 200 grey plastic parts, two frets of photo etched metal parts, Magic Track links (108 left and 108 right), a sheet of Cartograf decals and a bonus set of four Panzergrenadiers Wiking Division figures (DML #6194). It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this item is offered with $9 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
