In 1946 he studied under Shoji Hamada (first human national treasure). 1954 Shimazono Shimaoka, building kiln and independence. He received the Japan Civic Museum Award in 1962. In 1980 he won the Tochigi Prefectural Cultural Award Award. 1994 He received the Gold Award of the Japan Ceramic Association in 1995. 1996 Shimazono Shimaoka, accredited as a nationally designated important intangible cultural property holder (human national treasure).
